A three-dimensional biomechanical model of the shoulder is developed for force predictions in 50 shoulder structures. In this paper we present examples of force predictions obtained with the model employing different objective functions. In an attempt at validating the model, comparisons with EMG and IMP are made as well as a strength profile test. It is also shown that objective functions may be divided into two categories, that are experimentally distinguishable.
