The tuning of singly-resonant pulsed fiber-optic parametric oscillator (FOPO) over a 74-nm range encompassing the entire gain bandwidth of erbium doped fiber amplifier (EDFA) is demonstrated. Alternatively, similar tunable FOPO's could be made near 1310 nm, where standard telecommunication fiber has zero dispersion and mode-locked Nd-doped lasers are available for pumping.
