title = "Using Interest and Identity to Design for Mentor Persistence",
abstract = "Mentorship is identified as a successful approach to supporting youth in out-of-school learning. However, less attention has been paid to how to develop and support a mentor workforce. This study examines how to design supportive infrastructure that encourages mentors to persist in mentoring by providing opportunities for interest and collaborative identity development. Drawing on two case studies constructed from interview and interaction data, we demonstrate how these processes unfolded in a summer mentoring practicum.",
