Abstract

The scattering of waves by a finite number of rows of circular cylinders is examined. Reflection and transmission coefficients are obtained and compared to S. Kakuno's experimental data. Following V. Twersky, the scattering from a single row of cylinders (or the single grating problem) is numerically solved. The wide-spacing approximation is used to find the effect of multiple gratings.
