Abstract
Dynamic behavior of unbounded medium with lamellar structruing shows marked dependence on ratio of wave length and length characterizing layering of medium; time-harmonic vibrations of laminated medium are analyzed both by employing equations of theory of elasticity for each layer, and by employing approximate continuum theory for layered medium; propagation of time-harmonic waves in laminated plate is then studied by means of plate equations based on continuum theory for layered medium; by contrast, corresponding curve based on continuum theory which does not take into account lamellar struct%uring of plate shows constant phase velocity beyond certain wave number.
