Abstract

Coastal design in the vicinity of islands has been hampered by the lack of suitable wave propagation models for the computation of design wave heights and directions. The recent introduction of combined refraction/diffraction models coupled with the "thin-film" model introduced here provides for easy wave calcuations. Several examples are shown of the model capabilities.
