Abstract
The vector (Wess-Zumino) current in τ- → K -π-K+ντ decay was analyzed using data collected with the CLEO III detector at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring. The quantitative contributions to the decay width from the vector and axial vector currents were determined. The quantitative contributions to the total decay rate from the intermediate states were identified within the framework of a model by Kühn and Mirkes. It was shown that the decay is dominated by the vector and axial vector current processes.
